Since I’m new to the game of blogging, I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A so you guys could get to know me a little better.. I picked 20 questions to answer, so enjoy!
What’s your philosophy in life?
It probably sounds cliche, but the meaning of life is to give life meaning – life is what you make of it. We are born into this world with the luxury of designing our life in any way we want, so here’s my life philosophy;
Enjoy & live life to the fullest – do more of what you like + less of what you dislike.
Stop caring what other people may think, how is that going to help you?
Dream big, be realistic, work hard, and be proud of your accomplishments.
When I hit 80, I want to look back on a life well lived – I would rather regret the things I did than the things I didn’t do.
Spend time with people that matters – make your family and friends a priority!
Good food is what life is all about and I do consider myself to be a “foodie”. My favorite food are divided into two categories (Can’t do just one, sorry!); Greek and Italian. First from the Greek kitchen; a gyros, a Greek salad with a side of tzatziki, kleftiko, or any dish with lamb and baked feta hits a home run with me. From the Italian kitchen, I always prefer a good pizza or a delicious creme pasta with loads of Parmesan.
What are you most thankful for?
My dearest family and friends, my cat, that I have a place to call home, my health, that I’m born and raised in Norway, and all the opportunities I have.
Favorite TV show?
Sex and the city, Special victims unit, Criminal minds, The good wife, and Masterchef.
Your zodiac sign?
I’m a Gemini – “Sociable, communicative and ready for fun, with a tendency to suddenly get serious, thoughtful and restless. They are fascinated with the world itself, extremely curious, with a constant feeling that there is not enough time to experience everything they want to see. They dislike being alone, being confined, repetition and routine”.
One thing you would never do?
Skydiving out of an airplane. Enough said!
Your greatest accomplishment?
That I had the courage to follow my ultimate childhood dream – to move to the other side of the world alone to pursue my education and live life to the fullest, despite having a boyfriend (now husband ♥) at home. It’s something I would do, without a doubt, again tomorrow if I could!
If you could be anything in the world, what would you be?
I would be a criminal defense attorney.
What’s on your Bucketlist this year?
Try paddle-boarding, go to the movies alone, climb the Pulpit Rock, drink afternoon tea in England, have a meaningful conversation with a stranger, be in the audience of a TV-show and visit a total of 20 countries (2 more to go!).
One of your biggest goals for the future?
To some day travel the world and set foot in every continent.
Five words that describe you as a person?
Outgoing, adventurous, positive, kind and trustworthy.
I’m not a big fan of candy, but I love plain Norwegian milk chocolate and dark chocolate with pecan nuts & sea salt. Salty potato chips, nuts, and lot’s of delicious fruit (grapes, and melons) is also on top of my list.
Your biggest fear?
I’m terrified of loosing someone I love – a family member, a good friend or my cat.
Favorite thing(s) to do on a day off?
Ignoring any to-do-lists I may have in front of me, the perfect day off goes as follows; sleep inn, enjoy a delicious breakfast while watching one of my favorite TV-shows, finish a great workout, catching up with friends over a cup of coffee, spend a full day outside, make a delicious dinner, read a good book, meditate, and go to bed when I’m tired.
What do you value most in a friendship?
I personally believe a friendship is a two way street – you give & you take. It takes effort to be a true friend and it takes time finding a true friend. That being said, loyalty, trust, acceptance and encouragement are the most important qualities to me in a friendship – It’s important to be there for one another through good and bad times and to have one you can trust with your dearest thoughts and potential struggles, that we accept each other despite our differences & we must encourage, root for and lift each other up.
Favorite coffee order?
A double iced latte with a shot of caramel!
What are your hobbies?
Reading a good book, spending time with friends (whether it’s going to a cafe, have dinner together, or having a full night out on the town!), going for bike rides, spend time outside, being active in general (I love spinning and yoga), cooking and trying out new recipes, and meeting new people.
What annoys you the most?
Narrow minded people, slow drivers, unnecessary negativity, disrespect for other people’s time, and a lack of honesty or integrity.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Since I cannot just pick one place and one of my goals is to one day travel the world, my travel route goes as follows;
Thailand – Laos – Vietnam – Cambodia – China – Cook Islands – Australia – South Africa – Namibia – Zimbabwe – Botswana – Costa Rica – Belize – USA – Canada!
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years from now I’ll be 42 and by then I hope to still be married to the love of my life and have our dream home (a house). I hope that I have a job I truly enjoy, good financial stability, and good health. Lastly, I hope to maintain all the friendships I have with the most amazing people in my life and I hope to have checked off all the points on my Bucketlist!
