Back in the days, reading was the most common form of entertainment. Today, technology has been steadily replacing the entertainment of reading a good book. And I guess there’s nothing less to expect as we are currently living in the so-called “social media era”.. However, it’s important to maintain a balance between the hours we spend scrolling on the screen and do other things, so why not grab a book? Also, did you know that reading is related to many amazing benefits, including stress reduction, mental stimulation (keep your brain strong and healthy), memory and vocabulary improvement, improved focus and concentration, better writing skills, and it also provides inner peace and tranquility? Lots of great reasons to pick up those books and start reading! 🙂
I always loved reading from an early age, but after enrolling in college, my interest slowly dropped down at the list over my favorite things to do. Not because I didn’t enjoy reading per se, but because I was so preoccupied with maneuvering my way through the academic curriculum, so picking up a book after hours of studying seemed like a less appealing option at the time. However, after graduating I have slowly picked up the habit of reading again. I love to bundle up with something good to drink, a blanket and a good book – it’s relaxing, allows me to stress down and simply enjoy myself!
A couple of days ago I saw a post online where someone were giving away two boxes of books for free.. It was on a first come first serve basis, so I threw my head around and picked them up.. I got almost 30 amazing books for free! I’m now in the process of creating my own little library, which is such a fun and rewarding process. Can’t wait for it to be done!
